Hooray for making it to 6 months...these next 4 will hopefully fly by!
So. I'm jumping right into some serious bees-nees.
Nick found out at work they are cutting off an entire desk. Right now, he is on an 'extra board' where he works on several different desks. Because they are cutting off an entire desk, that means that the regular guys who work on that desk are going to be working at another one. Which means that whoever has more seniority will keep a regular job, and the guys who HAD regular jobs will now be on the extra board.
Which means too many employees on the extra board. Meaning, you know, my huband, who happens to only hold seniority over two other guys.
Which means he will more likely get 'furloughed' ...a nice way of saying getting laid off but with pay...80% of what he is making now to be exact.
Not the greatest time with a new baby coming in 16 weeks. Seriously.
His office has offered different moving positions. To Nashville, Atlanta, and Florence, South Carolina. All of those places will actually pay more than he makes now. He talked to my dad last night about it.
And he put in for the position in Florence.
We are calling a realtor tomorrow.
So I have no idea what is going on, when we would move, etc. The job will probably be cut off in March or the beginning of April, but I would really hope that we could move before then, OR, they would let Nick stay here until the baby is born so I wouldn't have to switch OB's, hospitals, etc. so late in pregnancy.
But we'll see.
It was alot to take in last night. I think I'm still a little shocked.

First, Congrats on making it to 24 weeks! That is so exciting!
That is a TON to take in right now and I"m sorry your dealing with all this. Stupid Economy! Wanna know something cool... We are moving to Cincinnati next spring.. Pretty close to Florance! It's a really great area!
Praying for you guys and your decisions!
Hey Rachel, its Lauren from xanga (Laurenmb1854). I think you guys would like either florence or atlanta! I grew up in Atlanta and then I lived in Myrtle Beach which is only about an hour or so from Florence! There is a lot more going on in atlanta but Florence is definitely a cute little town! I can't wait to hear what happens with you guys! Good luck!!!
WOW, that is a lot to take in. But, no matter what happens, you know things will work out just fine! Everything always does, even if you don't understand it right at the moment. Moving down south more will put you closer to your family and he'll end up making more at any of the options. You just have to look at all the good points about a move, I guess?! South Carolina would be awesome...I'd love to live there. I can't wait to hear all the news. XOXO*
