Josie's First Few Days

Things have been going absolutely perfect with our newest little Vanoven. I just can't get over how beautiful and perfect Josie is! I find myself just staring at her, rubbing her soft little head, and kissing her sweet-smelling cheeks!

My milk came in full force last night around 2 am...I woke up and it felt like my breasts had been filled with gravel! Ugh! Thankfully, Josie woke up hungrier than she had been and managed to empty 'the big one' and do some damage on the other side...so that was a relief! I was still pretty engorged after her morning feeding (around 7) so I got out the pump that Holly loaned me (THANK YOU!) and it felt so good to 'drain' them. I've never used an electric pump before and I love it! It sure will come in handy, since I have a shoot scheduled for next week and more than likely Nick (or whoever is watching Josie) will have to give her a bottle.

Besides breastfeeding, everything else is going great too!

Yesterday, for Mother's Day, I was woke up by Nick and the big kids coming in with cards and breakfast in bed! It was so cute with Josie in one arm, and then Brynn and Nicholas on either side of me while I read my cards and they ate all my breakfast! Nick made french toast and cut up pears! Yum!

Then we went to church, Josie just slept in her carrier the entire time...not a single peep! Then we came home and Jose and I took a nap while Nick and the big kids finished planting our flowers that we had gotten started the day I went into labor.

After my looong nap (I woke up at 4:30!) we took off to Outback! It was really great...the kids did very well (Nicholas got a little restless because our food took forevvvverrrr...so long they gave us a free dessert and two free gift cards for appetizers!)...Brynn wanted to sit by Josie and 'watch' her for me! She ALWAYS wants to sit by Mommy, so you can tell she's very smitten with her little sister!

Before I had Josie, I was fighting a really bad sinus infection that had spread into my face, head, teeth, etc. Well, in the hospital I completely forgot to finish my antibiotics (I had like 5 days left), and wouldn't you know it, the sinus infection came back. So I've been in some pretty bad pain from that. It's so annoying, because baby-wise...I'm feeling AMAZING! So I'm going to call and try to get an extra 5 days worth of the antibiotics so I can do a full dosage this time and hopefully kick this thing!

Nick has Brynn and Nicholas right now and took them to a Jump-Town place to let them play...he's so awesome! :) So I'm just trying to catch up on laundry and get things ready for when my sister gets here tomorrow or Wednesday! Then my mom and dad are getting here on Saturday! Yay! :)

I'll have some pictures up later today or tomorrow!

Glad the pump is working well for you! It was certainly a life-saver for me many times :) We'll probably be over to see you guys on Monday with my mom and sister... full house! Maybe the weather will be nice so we can let the kids run around...
