Brynn has been so interested in photography lately, and it just makes me so proud. I never "got" those parents who wanted their kids to do the sport that they were so good in during High School, or put their kids in a certain lesson simply for the reason that they took the same lessons when they were young.

But now? I totally get it.

Not saying I'm going to force Brynn to do it, but I can tell, that at 6, she is already has a natural talent for it. She gets really frustrated when she can't get the camera to focus how she wants it, and is vert particular about setting up shots and SO happy when she sees her 'work' on the computer. Like jumping up and down happy.

I fully intend that when I upgrade to the D3, to let this $2,000 camera be hers.

Anyways, onto the good stuff...her pictures!

Loading up the car!

This one she took after I ran back in the house to find my cell phone. When I came back, she was YELLING, "Mom!! I got Josie to smile AND I got a PICTURE of it!"

I love that her way of getting Josie to smile is the same exact way I get my clients' babies/kids to smile. By acting like a complete goof and not caring about how ridiculous she looks!

Isn't this just a gorgeous picture???

Nicholas, for the past year, refers to Walmart as "Donut!" When he was first learning to talk, it was just "duhhhh-t" and Nick and I couldn't understand what in the world he was screaming every time we drove by. Since it was under construction, we thought he was referring to the piles of dirt! Until one day when Brynn said, "Not dirt, Mom! He's saying donut!"

Nick started this tradition of every trip to Walmart, bribing the kids with a sugary treat. I was adamantly against it. But I soon came over to the dark side :)

And for the record, I typically don't ever get one. But I was really hungry, and they looked fresh. :)

Don't you love her use of negative space here? This is uncropped, exactly how she took it!

This is one of my all time favorite pictures. I love the composition, I love the blurriness, I love the colors. And *I* tried to get her to take it from another angle. From my height, of course, taking a picture straight on of the bananas would have looked stupid. But from hers? *swoon*

For Valentine's Day, I'm making Balsamic Chicken and some garlic/wine sauce grilled asparagus :)

Sometimes I forget the angle my kids see me from! I just love the colors in this!

This is the only one I cropped, but it's a huge fave! The colors are just awesome :)

I don't even remember seeing flowers! I think they were in the clearance aisle, since we never went down the floral aisle...

Again, totally not a composition I would think of, but it works and this picture just makes me happy!

Again, no cropping. How perfect did the yellows and oranges blend in the dead center?!?

And one last one from when we got home. When I was little, me and my sisters and my mom would sometimes, randomly flip around in our chairs at dinner, and sit at the table like this. With our feet sticking up in the air. And we'd look around and see everyone upside down and just laugh and laugh. My dad, of course, would just sit (normally) and just shake his head, I'm sure, secretly loving it. I can just imagine HIS view. His wife's feet, then three small little girl feet moving around, everyone giggling.

My childhood was awesome :)

So anyways, I thought I would enlighten my kids to this little tradition...and like me and my sisters before them, they A) thought I was crazy, B) couldn't stop giggling and C) immediately (after taking a picture of crazy mama) tried it out for themselves

Yesterday was a great day :)
