For those of you that I'm friends with on Facebook, you may have seen my updates about Nicholas. For those of you that aren't on FB, here's the summary:
Nicholas started having bad diarrhea while we were in Florida, around the 16th, maybe sooner, I wasn't thinking I would need to pay attention, since tummy troubles are so common in kids. On the 18th, though, at night, he was throwing up/dry heaving. Then 5 solid days of no puking, but increasingly sicker diarrhea. On the 25th, 26th, and 27th he was up in the night throwing up again...violently. The 28th he had a doctor's appointment where the doctor prescribed Zofran to take before bedtime.
I had my hopes up when he didn't throw up that night.
Yesterday (Sunday) was so far the worst day for diarrhea. We're talking anywhere from 5-8 diapers an hour. His digestive track is so screwed up that after he ate applesauce, it literally came out AS applesauce less than an hour later. I mean, it was PURE applesauce, without even a 'poop' smell to it.
Then, starting this previous night at around 9 something, he would be screaming in his sleep and Nick or I would go in and calm him down. This continued pretty much every other hour until around 4 when Nick was in with him and Nicholas threw up while half asleep and started choking on it. He then threw up for the next 5-10 minutes (I was up by this point). Immediately afterwards, he filled another very sick diaper, and promptly fell asleep.
So that's where we're at now. It's 5:15 in the morning and I am just spent and exhausted. I don't want to go back to sleep because I'm worried that I won't get to Nicholas in time if he needs me.
Anyways, I'm calling his doctor first thing in the morning, and if they don't do some sort of test, x-ray, whatever, I'm taking him to the hospital. This kid is sick, and I don't know how much longer this will go on before he gets seriously dehydrated (if he isn't already).
So please please please keep Nicholas in your prayers...he is exhausted, sick, and miserable, Brynn is miserable because we've been cooped up in the house for a week now, and Nick and I are completely exhausted and very worried for our little guy.
